Wheel requirements
Although every rollercoaster is different, some key success factors are applicable for every rollercoaster:
Resistant to high speed
Huge load capacity (including possible falling weight)
Water resistant
Noise reduction
Long lifespan
Safety!

Rollercoaster wheels and guide wheels run at speed under a calculated load. The polyurethane tread, bearing and side clearance are taken from the ride drawing. A separate guide wheel, often a smaller polyurethane wheel or nylon wheel, keeps the car on the rail. Each position is documented before production.
