Vertebrae Bend Restrictors (VBR) are lightweight dynamic components designed to limit the bend radius of subsea cables, umbilical's and flowlines by mechanical means during both installation and service life.

Vertebrae bend restrictors are interlocking polyurethane elements that stop a cable or umbilical bending tighter than its design radius. They are moulded to the cable diameter and the required locking angle. This is a polyurethane product, not a rolling wheel, and it is built to the cable datasheet.
