Vulklthan ® wheel

Vulklthan® (95±2 Shore A)

Vulklthan® (95±2 Shore A)

Vulklthan®: High-load polyurethane. Very high load capacity, low compression set, high tear, abrasion and impact resistance, long service life; also suitable for high speed, though it builds up more heat than Vogthan® at speed.

Typical Operating Conditions

  • Typical equipment: mining monorail drive wheels, shield machine support wheels, stacker crane wheels, heavy transfer cars, heavy-duty friction drive wheels.
  • Load and speed: heavy loads, also at higher running speeds, with stable traction.
  • Duty: continuous running and frequent start-stop cycles; handles shock and impact loading.

Note: typical values measured on laboratory test specimens, for material selection only; whole-wheel performance depends on wheel diameter, tread thickness and operating conditions.

Vulklthan is a high-grade polyurethane wheel compound for drive wheels and load wheels. It resists cutting, chunking and hydrolysis better than standard elastomers. Use it on AGV wheel drives, forklift load wheels and heavy castors where the tread sees continuous start-stop cycles. Specify diameter, tread width and hub bore to match the axle.
